The place for your career

Graduate Accountancy Trainee (ATT-CTA) Apprenticeships

At PKF Francis Clark you’ll get the best start to becoming a professionally qualified Tax Professional.  Start here, join our journey and take your career as far as you can.  It’s the place to be successful, forward-thinking and be with others just like you.  But most of all, it is the place to be yourself.

You might be an under-graduate, a graduate, or someone who has an established career and wants to switch and start a new career in accountancy.

PKF Francis Clark is the largest independent accountancy firm in the South West, which means that we are large enough to depend on, but small enough to care. We really get under the skin of our clients and their businesses, to truly understand their ambitions and work together to find solutions to achieve them. Our goal is to understand what our clients need before they do.

You won’t be a cog in a large company wheel where you only experience one area.  With us, you’ll experience the full cross section of opportunities in the world of accountancy to become a rounded professional.

You’ll find a culture of friendliness and support and you’ll feel welcome from day one. There’s a sense of family here, and we love to have fun and let our hair down too.

Emily – ACA Trainee “I chose Francis Clark as I wanted the “big city” job but with the South West relaxed lifestyle, which is what I have at Francis Clark”

If you join us as a trainee you will get stuck in from day one, learning on the job with access to a wide range of high-quality clients, from start-ups to large blue-chip household brands and inspirational not-for-profit organisations. We are much more than just accountancy, priding ourselves on our long-term client relationships, technical knowledge, strategic support and commercial insight. We start with our clients’ needs and ambitions and work as a team to support one another to make success happen.

Along the way you’ll get all the support you need to grow professionally as you focus on getting your qualifications and becoming a Chartered Accountant or Tax Professional. However, getting qualified is just the beginning. We’re looking for people who have the potential to be business advisers and problem solvers to be the future of PKF Francis Clark.

All of our trainee opportunities follow apprenticeship standards, which we fully fund, and this means you will receive support and learning not only for your professional qualification but also towards the skills and behaviours that are required to be a successful accountant. We recognise that personal development training is essential in becoming a well trusted business adviser, so this is why we have an accredited STEPs programme that offers you structured interpersonal development.

You will be supported by a mentor, student counsellor and a line manager to ensure that you are on track with both your professional qualification and career aspirations. We also support all of our employees with a blended approach to their development which includes a mixture of classroom, online and on the job learning.

Our culture is created by our people, all of whom are encouraged to share their opinions, value teamwork and understand the importance of a mutually beneficial, supportive environment. People across all of our locations are social and active and you can get involved with everything from running, cricket and football, to book clubs, cooking and yoga! Each office has a chosen charity and we’re proud of our efforts to support and raise funds throughout the year.

Come and join the best of both worlds - realise your career potential, working with the best clients in a professional, people-centred, successful business, with a great lifestyle location in the south west.

We are looking to recruit graduate trainees across all eight of our South West locations.

Our minimum application criteria are:

  • On track to achieve or have obtained a 2.2 or above in any degree discipline
  • Minimum of 112 UCAS points. This is based on the 2017 UCAS Tariff. You can calculate your UCAS points here.
  • Grade 5 or B or above in GCSE Maths and English.

If this sounds like you, apply now.

Love your job, live your life.
