Rural Accounts Manager (0482)

We are currently looking for a Rural Accounts Manager to deliver an industry best general accounting and tax compliance and advisory services to a range of predominantly rural clients, including farms, land owners and estates.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Dealing with the review of annual business accounts and tax computations, for unincorporated businesses up to £5M turnover
  • Ensuring that accounting records for clients are maintained and kept up to date and generally dealing with client matters.
  • Dealing with the review of quarterly VAT returns and ensuring all filing deadlines are adhered to
  • Managing a client portfolio including the billing of work done and work scheduling.
  • Promotion of the firm and attendance at suitable events in order to reinforce existing relationships with clients and to win new client work.
  • Compliance with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentoring and training junior members of staff to ensure excellent service is maintained.

About you:

  • AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Good technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance, including capital transactions
  • Committed, logical and accurate, with a methodical approach to work and strong attention to detail
  • Experience in servicing different types of business entity
  • Experience in using accounts and tax return software
  • Proficient in MS Office (with strong Excel skills), Sage, Xero and QBO
  • Applicants should be accurate, analytical and methodical in their approach to work
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in delivering an excellent service to clients
  • Experience in accounting and taxation for farm and agricultural businesses
  • Familiar with IHT and CGT issues
