Private Client Tax Manager (0532)

We are looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to provide a high quality private client tax service to high net worth individuals and to assist in the review of personal tax returns.  

About you:

  • Previous experience in a tax compliance and advisory role
  • ACA/CTA qualified
  • Excellent up to date technical knowledge
  • Commercially astute, with keen analytical and problem-solving mind
  • Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines – particularly during the January tax return season
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly with clients
  • Professional and discreet in demonstrating client care
  • Proficient in MS Office 2007 (ie Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Be fully aware and conversant with compliance standards
  • Exposure to providing a tax advisory service an advantage
  • Knowledge of Digita advantageous.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of tax cases, including HNWIs, non-resident and non-domiciled individuals
  • Supervise inputting of information where this is done by other members of staff
  • Prepare complex returns and review returns prepared by other members of the personal tax team, generally the more complex returns
  • Take the lead on advisory projects, including preparing and reviewing reports
  • Collate and maintain client information
  • Continue and build on current client relationships
  • Correspond and deal with client enquires in relation to their tax issues and liabilities, ensuring any unresolved issues are referred to the appropriate Partner; including the initial handling/ identification of both tax planning and tax investigation issues
  • Maintain direct contact with clients and HMRC, in the delivery of an excellent client service
  • Ensure adherence to all compliance processes and ensure, as much as possible, that there are no log jams
  • Network with contacts, introducers and work providers
  • Attend relevant business development activities and events
  • Participate in specific “lunch and learn” activities
  • Write and deliver presentations on relevant topics ie property tax updates
  • Other ad-hoc tax projects, as required.
