We are looking for an IT Support Assistant to be based in our Torquay Office.

Ideally you will be a graduate or equivalent with a real interest in IT and a passion for customer support to join our busy internal IT support department

Overview of the role and team

The purpose of this role is to help provide IT support to over 750 users, across 8 offices, in a busy professional environment.

IT is an internal department tasked with supporting, maintaining and developing the firm’s IT provision across the whole of PKF Francis Clark LLP.

The firm have long identified the importance of the role of IT in underpinning their growth and progression, using IT to help increase efficiency and improve delivery whenever possible.

Some of the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Provide front-line IT desktop support via phone, email or logged support calls
  • Support and deliver user training for new starters and, for the right person, the possible opportunity to develop the training and "delivery" side of the role
  • Help with user administration (e.g. setting up new users in Active Directory and Exchange)
  • Help with the building and maintaining of end user hardware
  • Carry out general departmental administration. This includes usage and manipulation of spreadsheets and asset databases etc. for the purposes of handling purchasing, licensing and resource allocation / management.

Overview of the person

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have good people skills, be confident and be always willing to help
  • Have excellent communication skills including a good phone manner and a clear writing style
  • Be organised and accurate when dealing with data and software
  • Have a driving licence as travel between the offices will be required.

Experience and Qualifications

You will be passionate about providing excellent support and will have:

  • A broad-based knowledge and interest across all aspects of IT, to include Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Good troubleshooting skills and an awareness of the importance of security and confidentiality within a professional services environment.

In addition, experience, qualifications or a keen interest in any of the following would also be advantageous:

  • Citrix
  • Business and Accounting applications
  • Skype
  • iOS / mobile phone support.

Training 

  • On the job training in the early stages, but with further training identified and supported through our annual development and performance review process
