Finance Business Partner (0819)

Reporting to our Director of Finance, you will provide financial support to the business to assist them in achieving their financial objectives.


 About you:

  • A self-starter who is open to (and comfortable initiating) change and seeks and encourages fresh ideas to meet an ever changing environment.  Able to support colleagues to adapt to change across the business.
  • Able to construct and manage processes to ensure that budget owners understand current and forecasted spend and keep within budget.  
  • An effective communicator with excellent presentation skills and gravitas; articulate and persuasive; able to build strong relationships across the business at all levels.
  • An ability to analyse complex data to inform decision making.
  • Able to draw on best practice from other organisations and adapt it to meet the needs the business.
  • The ability to build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders
  • An ability to thrive in a professional and pressurised environment, proactively managing multiple work-streams.
  • A track record of high performance in a commercial finance business partnering, planning team or financial advisory role.
  • Experience of good cross-functional working.
  • A qualified accountant with advanced Excel skills.
  • Expert level experience in variance and financial / budgetary analysis, forecasting, cost accounting, business planning and risk and controls
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, graphic) skills
  • able to develop data strategies to enable effective reporting, planning, financial management and control
  • CIMA qualified or equivalent


What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing comprehensive financial support to decision makers and budget holders to ensure that the business areas have robust financial information to support effective decision making and help achieve business objectives
  • Providing commercial support and insight in an accurate and timely way, being a sounding board to new initiatives, helping to identify risks and opportunities
  • Establishing a process for regular performance reviews, acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders and providing the right balance of challenge and support
  • Providing ad hoc analysis and insight on business performance
  • Collaborating with local and central teams to ensure an efficient / effective finance service
  • Researching market and competitor approaches.
