Credit Control Apprentice (0699)

We are recruiting in Torquay for a Credit Control Apprentice.

You will maintain positive cashflow for the firm by ensuring the timely collection of amounts owed from clients while retaining exceptional business relationships with them.


  • Communicate with clients regarding outstanding client debts and assisting them in settling amounts owed in a timely manner;
  • Assist clients in paying amounts due by processing credit card payments, setting up direct debit payment plans or facilitating alternative payment arrangements;
  • Liaise with partners and fee earners regarding individual debts;
  • Support the identification of receipts to invoices and credit notes so that debtor balances are accurate.
  • Provide assistance to other areas of the central finance team as required to ensure the smooth running of the department;
  • Act as ambassador for the finance department.

Qualifications and experience


  • GCSEs (A-C) or (9-4) including Maths and English
  • You must be comfortable working with figures, accurate and understand the significance of calculations
  • Great written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate, with an aptitude towards spreadsheets
  • Some work experience in business or an accountancy practice is desirable, but an aptitude to the work is more important
  • Personable, enquiring and willing to ask questions when unsure
  • A sense of fun and a desire to succeed

This role will follow the Credit Control Apprenticeship standards (Level 2) and we will provide you with the necessary support to meet the requirements of the programme.
