We are currently recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager to join our Poole office.

This is a mixed compliance and advisory role, and we are looking for someone who enjoys developing and coaching a team.

About you: 

  • Previous experience in a tax compliance and advisory role
  • Good working knowledge of accounts
  • ATT qualified
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Excellent up to date technical knowledge
  • Commercially astute, with keen analytical and problem-solving mind
  • Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly with clients
  • Professional and discreet in demonstrating client care
  • Proficient in MS Office 365
  • Fully aware of and conversant with compliance standards
  • Exposure to providing a tax advisory service an advantage
  • Knowledge of Alphatax advantageous
  • Ability to establish and maintain a network of contacts and profile in the business community

What you’ll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Tax Directors, be responsible for a portfolio of general corporate tax clients
  • Undertake some personal tax work, as required
  • Liaising closely with the Accounts Managers to ensure a comprehensive service to clients
  • Provide corporate tax advice including reorganisations/reconstructions/MBOs and other transactions
  • Working with partners and managers on new assignments and new client work
  • Where relevant, assisting with building the tax services by actively promoting the firm and its services to clients and targets
  • Supervising the inputting of information where this is done by other members of staff
  • Preparing complex returns and reviewing returns prepared by other members of the tax team, generally the more complex returns
  • Collating and maintaining client information
  • Corresponding and dealing with client enquires in relation to their tax issues and liabilities, ensuring any unresolved issues are referred to the appropriate Partner; including the initial handling/ identification of both tax planning and tax investigation issues
  • Maintaining direct contact with clients and HMRC in the delivery of excellent client service
