Business Development Manager (0530)

Are you confident in liaising with multiple teams, internal stakeholders and external contacts, and able to use your superb organisation skills to maintain the smooth running of all business development activity?

We have recently created a new role within PKF Francis Clark for a Business Development Manager to work with our Poole and Salisbury offices. Travel to both offices will be required.

In this role, you will work in collaboration the Business Development partner in each office, and the wider marketing and business development team to nurture business development activity in each office.

About you:

  • Preferably 2+ years’ experience of business development activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable communicating at all levels internally and externally.
  • Highly organised with great organisational skills.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and good under pressure.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • Proficient in social media.
  • Used to and keen to work in a team environment.
  • A can do attitude.
  • Full driving licence and own transport is essential.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Using the CRM system to update contact details, the progress on relationship building activities and enquiries.
  • Monitoring the local office marketing/BD budget.
  • Understanding the local marketplace and proactively looking for BD opportunities. This may involve undertaking market research, company research and using software to identify new avenues to market to.
  • Maintaining a list of the offices’ key clients and prospects.
  • Running BD campaigns and cold-calling to gain meetings with prospects.
  • Managing the offices’ business development pipeline and qualifying opportunities/leads for the BD team including cross selling.
  • Monitoring key clients and prospects and engaging with them on social media.
  • Developing keep in touch programmes with the aim of making contact with key clients and prospects. Helping the local offices’ BD teams to forge stronger relationships. 
  • Managing and assisting with the production of proposal documents and keeping a log on wins & losses. Sharing best practice with other teams.
  • Coordinating business development meetings for the offices and chasing actions with team members so progress is being made.
  • Attending external networking events and acting as an ambassador of the firm.
  • As part of the wider marketing team helping to drive campaigns and sector activity in the local offices and their respective marketplaces.
  • Managing events/webinars from start to finish including scoping the event based on objectives through to following up to generate sales leads post event.
  • Ensuring that all activity complies with GDPR.
  • Coordinating attendance at external networking events and updating CRM with opportunities.
