Do you remember the first conversation you had with a client?

You put down the phone and smiled. This is why you chose a career in accountancy. And it felt great. You crunch the numbers in order to communicate opportunities to clients. To you, crunching the numbers is a way to make more meaning of the numbers, not a means to an end.

About you:

You’ll currently be studying for your ACA or ACCA qualification, with experience in audit, gained in a public practice environment. You’ll want a variety of work in Audit, Accounts and Tax. You may be doing more Audit than Tax or Accounts, but will want to join a team that can support you to gain a wider knowledge and experience to enable you to be a more rounded accountant and better serve your clients.

You’ll have an interest in where the world of accountancy is moving to, and a hunger to learn new things. You won’t be worried about being replaced by a computer, you’ll be excited about how you will use digitisation and data analytics to support clients to achieve their ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be part of a team that audits 36 of the Top 150 Companies in Devon and Cornwall (three times more than the next regional firm), and six of the Top 10 Charities in the South West. This means that you will get involved in a variety and breadth of work that you just won’t find in other regional firms in the South West. You will also work with our Business Services team and Tax team to develop a rounded knowledge which will help you to develop the broad knowledge that clients expect.

Aside from your work, you’ll study for the ACA or ACCA qualification at Reed Business School, where you’ll attend resident tuition across the year, with personal tuition that is focussed on your needs and supports you through the qualification.

You’ll be supported by Seniors, who have been where you are today and will project manage audit assignments on site. You will also have the support and guidance of your own mentor in the Exeter office.

Why us:

PKF Francis Clark is the place for your career. Our growth offers you the opportunity to expand and develop your career in a direction that interests you. We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, taking your career seriously to enable you to be the best you can be.
